What to Wear to Las Vegas

Ryan Brennan • July 1, 2022

Las Vegas is one of the most visited cities in the entire world and the Las Vegas Strip is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the entire world. In April 2022 alone, Vegas saw over 3.3 million visitors – a 31.4% increase from a year ago, but 4.5% decrease from the 2019 total (pre-Covid).

In 2019, a total of 42.5 million people visited Sin City, which is just 400,000 people below the all-time record. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, Vegas saw just over 19 million visitors and while that’s the lowest since 1989, it has recovered to 32.3 million in 2021.

And through the first four months of 2022, Vegas has already seen over 11.8 million visitors. The city is widely known for its luxurious and high-class Las Vegas casinos, resorts, clubs, Vegas restaurants, bars, and shopping– all of which aren’t going anywhere, so expect those numbers to continue to rise.

What to Wear to Las Vegas

One of the biggest reasons why so many people visit Las Vegas every year – aside from the attractions – is the weather. Albeit not perfect, Vegas weather is exactly what most people want on a vacation. It’s always sunny, there’s always a blue sky, it rarely rains, and it’s usually hot.

With that said, it can sometimes be very windy, there’s a lot of dust storms, it can sometimes be too hot, and it does happen to get rather cold during the winter months – after all, it is a desert. Overall, Vegas weather provides a comfortable environment year-round for those traveling.

If you’re wondering what to wear to Las Vegas, you should definitely expect it to be hot outdoors – you can usually catch a break in the shade, but it’s a slight break. Most indoor places will have the air conditioning on and some places will have it blasting, so make sure to keep that in mind.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes are usually a must, but let’s take a closer look at what to wear in Las Vegas during each season – summer, fall, winter, and spring -- to ensure you're dressed appropriately.

What to Wear During the Summer Months

The weather in Las Vegas during June, July, and August is mostly sunny, hot, and windy. The temperature is between 70 and 100 degrees, but it gets as high as 110+ degrees. The humidity is around 30-45% and you can expect a couple of days of rain – if the city is lucky enough.

When traveling to Las Vegas in the summer, you should consider wearing comfortable clothing and breathable attire. Shorts, short-sleeve shirts, tank tops, walking shoes, bathing suits, hats or visors, sunscreen, sunglasses, sundresses, crop tops, flip flops, and comfortable sandals. You should still dress up for the nightlife.

What to Wear During the Fall Months

The weather in Las Vegas during September, October, and November is mostly sunny, mild temperature, and windy. The temperature is generally between 40 degrees and 90 degrees, you can (again) hope for a couple of days of rain, and the humidity in the fall drops to 25-35%.

When traveling to Las Vegas in the fall, you should consider wearing summer attire during the day (shorts, tank tops, sundresses, etc.), but a long sleeve t-shirt and pants during the evening and at night. You won’t always need it, but there will be some colder days that come randomly. The body content of your post goes here. What to Wear During the Winter Months

The weather in Las Vegas during December, January, and February is mostly sunny, cold/chilly, and windy. You can expect the temperature to be anywhere between 30 and 50 degrees – though it can get even colder – several days of rain (hopefully), and the humidity around 20%.

When traveling to Las Vegas in the winter, you should consider wearing warm clothing like pants, long-sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, and a light jacket. There will be times when you can get away with shorts and a short-sleeve shirt, so pack them just in case, but expect it to mostly be cold and/or chilly.

What to Wear During the Spring Months

The weather in Las Vegas during March, April, and May is mostly sunny, warm/chilly, and windy. The temperatures usually hover between 45 and 80 degrees, you’ll get under one inch of rain, and the humidity is between 25% and 30%. This is often considered the best time to visit.

When traveling to Las Vegas in the spring, you should consider wearing shorts and other summer attire during the day, but pants and other winter attire during the evening or night. It’ll get warm when the sun is out, but once it passes behind the mountains, it’ll start to get a little cold.

What to Wear to the Night Clubs or Casino

Whether you plan on visiting Las Vegas in the summer, fall, winter, or spring, there’s two places you’re bound to end up during your stay – the club and the casino. Nightlife is a large reason why many people visit and so being prepared for the moment is a must when making the trip.

When going to the night club or casino in Las Vegas, you should consider wearing your best outfit – something you’ve always wanted to show off. Don't be afraid to dress up, so dress casually and wear dress shoes, slacks, collared shirts, polos, dresses, skirts, etc.

Many Vegas casinos and clubs have dress codes, but they don't all have the same dress code, so be mindful of this. Of course, you'll also want a bathing suit if it's a pool party.
